Happy Halloween!
I'm just checking in with a quick little post,
we made it to Memphis, but things have been a bit crazy.
I will update you on that part later.
First I need to sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

Lesson Learned

Mowgli and I go on walks everyday. Sometimes 3 short walks, sometimes one big long walk.
He loves them as much as I do.

Lately the wind has been blowing the leaves all around us as we walk. I think it looks magical.
Mowgli thinks he should chase and catch each leaf.
Oh, I love him.
He always stands with his feet pointing out like that.. What a silly guy.
I was trying to give him a leaf hat.. he didn't want any part of it.
Just as we were going inside he ran back and grabbed a leaf from the ground.
He brought the leaf in, and to my confusion.. he began to eat it.
Normally he just shreds leaves and paper all over the house.
He was actually consuming it and crunching it like it was a delicious treat,
and growling at Fungus when he got too close.
I wasn't sure if it was bad for him, so I took the leaf from him.
This is Mowgli 5 hours later, with an upset tummy. He had just thrown up that leaf.
Lesson Learned?

Probably not.

Friday Favorites: Happy Halloween!

I love Halloween! I'm a little bit bummed because I will be moving that weekend! I'm hoping we will be able to finish up all the moving by Halloween so we can have a little party at least.
This Friday Favorites is dedicated to Halloween.
Since.. well, it is my favorite holiday.

It's Good to be Back

The shop is back open with 3 new animals beanies!
(I'm probably more excited about the shop being open again than you are..)

The wolf one is of course my favorite. It was the first animal hat I ever made.
I made it for myself and decided to sell them! (Which ends up always being the case.)

Check out the new hats here.
&
I also added a big bunch of stuff to the art shop!

To Hold The Moon

I am very proud of myself. I have checked off everything on that list.. minus giving Mowgli a bath. He is still as stinky as ever. Maybe next time? I think so!

Okay so I've been busy. I have three new hats to list as soon as the shop opens back up. I can't wait to reopen it. I have missed it. Does that sound silly? I know I could have opened it anytime I want.. I just needed a short break.

Today I focused my time on photos. Taking them, being in them, editing them and posting them. Boy that gets old. But it needs to get done, right?

Here are a few things just added to Tree Talker. I've been working on these for a little while and I think they turned out beautifully! They just didn't photograph very well.

I may retry later.. perhaps the same day I can give that dog of mine a bath. (Wink wink)

See? Sadly the pictures didn't turn out like I wanted them too..

I also finished this over the weekend.
To Hold The Moon
A sleepy girl holds the moon as her hair turns into the night sky..

I did this painting last Saturday during the full moon. It's watercolor/pastel and colored pencil. I love the moon. I always look forward to the full moon. Each time I see it I want to hold onto it forever. I'm definitely a night person. I stay up very late into the night. It's not that I hate the day, or the sun. From from it! I just don't like seeing the sun before noon. The sun doesn't like to see me before noon either. Since it's mutual I don't see it being a big deal.

What a wonderful short break.
Though it wasn't much of a "break," because I can't just sit there not making something.
I must always be busy making something, or I get a little restless.

I'm sure you know how it is..
Here's to the rest of the week being just as productive!

Day Off To-Do List

This weekend was busy. Three days full of knitting, crocheting, sewing and packing. Some days I worked over 14 hours! But I'm very very pleased to announce that I'm all caught up. All hats are now on their way to their new owners.
I have the shop closed until the 28th, so I figured I would take those extra days as days off to catch myself up. There are tons of things that I've been wanting to do, I figured the best way to get everything done would be to make myself a list. That way I won't forget something.. or just waste a bunch of time looking at random stuff online.
Yep, "Clean House" has already been checked off. I didn't even want to touch the computer until I cleaned this mess up.

Take Note

I love this one..
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Mine will be full of knitting, crocheting, sewing and packaging! I might get a little bit of packing in.. but who knows.

In The Workshop

This week had been crazier than crazy. I've put my shop on vacation mode until I can catch up. I haven't had much time for blogging because I want people to have their hats as soon as possible! Here are a few quick shots from my "Workshop."
 Little sticker labels
The tags that go inside the hats
The two monsters that help make things fun
 My prized colored pencils
 Little sketch from my sketchbook
 My pastels
The sky right outside my door.

Another thing that caused me to have a bit of a crazy week..
I just found out we are moving back to Memphis.

Next Saturday.

Things I Love Right Now

I've been so very busy lately. I hate it when I don't get to leave the house. I get a small case of cabin fever. Sometimes I have to just put down my work for a little while and go on an adventure. The other day I asked Taylor to drive me around so I could see the beautiful leaves changing color. I asked him to pull over many times  at very short notice so I could get out and walk around. I love everything about fall, and I love my very patient husband.

A few other things I love:

I love seeing green, red and yellow together in nature.
I love when the trees appear to glow.
I love discovering huge lakes close by my house.
I love feeling small in this big world!
I love reflections,
and I love marbled skies.
I love mysterious forests,
And beautiful hills.
I love my best pal Taylor,
because he thinks I smell nice.
I love perfect roads.
I love overcast days.
I love brown hues,
and I love old railroads!

Most of all,
 I love spontaneous adventures.

Meet Chelsea

I "met" Chelsea a few years ago. She is from Arizona and her friend Lucia became my friend and roommate when we were in college. Chelsea and I were introduced to each other years ago through MySpace and Facebook, but we didn't walk much. I stumbled onto her blog a few months ago through one of your blogs! I had no idea she had a blog. (such a small world!) Since then we have become penpals, though we have never officially met I feel like we would be great friends. We decided to do a little feature on each other, so without further ado.. Meet Chelsea!
(Warning.. her hair will make you jealous, so will her face, and her style..)

1. Tell us a bit about yourself.

Hi! My name is Chelsea(bird) and I blog under the Tea Talk blog. I am a senior journalism major at Arizona State University, and I'm head over heels in love with my boyfriend, Scott, of four years. I love crafting, and making cute things with my hands. My favorite craft would have to be crocheting, but I also love sewing as well. I am also in love with personal style, and I post a few outfit posts a week on my blog. Lastly, writing is a huge passion of mine and is something I do every single day. I not only blog for myself under Tea Talk, but also for the ASU magazine under the blog name Downtown Dispatch. There, I blog weekly about places to go in downtown Phoenix.

2.Tell us a bit about your blog.
I started my blog just under a year a half ago, after blogging through Xanga, and Livejournal for years prior to. I initially started it as a way to show my boyfriend exactly what I was doing while I was in Colorado for the summer. However, after discovering the crafty bloggers involved in Red Velvet Art, and other bloggers that partake in the crafty life, I started to reach out to them and did some crafty blogging of my own. Since then, I have expanded my blog to included my every day life, personal style outfits posts, and the occasional crafty projects. I really enjoy blogging, and love all the great people I have met throughout the blogsphere. I feel very lucky to be involved in this community, and plan on blogging for many years to come.
3. What is your favorite part of blogging?
My favorite part about blogging is sharing all the great places I encounter, not only in Phoenix, but in the surrounding areas, and also out of state while I'm traveling. I'm all about local support, and love highlighting some of my favorite shops, with the hope that fellow bloggers will see the posts and go out and try, or check out the places I'm blogging about.

4. Are there any blogs that you visit daily?
Oh yes! I have a ton of blogs that I check out on a daily basis, among my favorites are- Selective Potential, Cracking Good, Smile and Wave, Elise Blaha-Enjoy it, Bleubird Vintage, Jen loves Kev, Kyla Roma, etc. I honestly could go on and on, but those are my daily must reads!
 5. What do you do when you're not blogging?
When I'm not blogging I'm a busy full-time student, as well as an intern at a local newspaper. I spend as much time with my boyfriend as I can, and we try and go out to as many fun events as we can i.e. art galleries, movies, fashion events, festivals, etc.

6. Do you have any advice for new bloggers?
Blog consistently, and about things you enjoy. Blog about your life, and the things you do. Oh, and don't forget to always try and use your own pictures!

Thanks for having me Rachael!
Don't forget to check out my blog here, and also my twitter stream here.
